The Mangle Shoots to Prominence on UK TV

It’s good to see such an ageless device becoming part of popular culture. While Big Brother is a slowly dying phenomenon, the BBC published photos of the latest house for Big Brother 9, which includes this photo of the mangle. That said, it looks like this one is a reject from Scrapheap Challenge, rather than a nice, shiny elegant one that graces The Mangle’s blog pages (see above, right).

 

I’d like to see some YouTube videos featuring housemates wrestling with the concept of using one of these contraptions on the show. My guess is that they will avoid it like the plague …

And I am always intrigued by the sort of SPAM that manages to breach my organisations pretty stringent email security measures. I received two identical emails today from two different AOL email addresses: trace268@aol.com and andresvomende@aol.com. Subject lines were different too: one said ‘ebay’ and the other ‘hello’. I’d really like to find out what’s behind all of this, but I don’t want to click on the link they sent me to find out! Here’s the email:
